so the olympics are on, and the athletes are moving into the stadium after some incredible ceremony. then exxon and nissan and coke commercials. i wonder what they’re watching in darfur and tibet.

it sucks to have all of these ideas going around inside me, lives that aren’t my own, memories that are pure fiction, and not be able to give them voice on paper. so i’ll just keep moving forward. little by little. the thousand word days are nice to think about. i need to set something up that i can manage, day by day, not some grand scheme for producing the great american novel.

every corporation is doing everything it can to make every experience the same for every customer.

every industry is intent on slaughter.

but my kids are asleep and happy right now. there is trouble in many places but not at this moment in the dreams of my sweet children. no telling what is ahead, but for us this present is enough.

m and i talked about seeing ba and getting some marriage counseling. she is dubious.

i took the kids to the pool today, as tired as they were after staying up ’til two last night. they did a good job of holding it together. there was only a brief few minutes of disharmony; after that, all was well and fun. i love playing with them. today, i was slade, the arch nemesis of the teen titans.

i have one week until school starts up again. i’ve been prepping and am excited? about getting the year started. there is so much to do. and getting busy is good because it keeps the depression at bay. of course the meds help. the exercise is helping now, though there was the riding fiasco the other day. i’ll give it another shot tomorrow.

haven’t seen ba in a while but would like to. m went a few weeks ago then did not schedule another. she said she didn’t really feel the need. when the aim of the whole thing is to get us in there together, that’s a little disconcerting. we’ll see what happens.

now, we’re watching teen titans go, the complete second season. i gotta say, i enjoy the titans. it’s mix of retro stylings with humorous anime expressions is a hoot. i’d love to be able to draw that way, but i’m still practicing. hopefully, i can get a handle on my sketching enough to make some flash lessons for my students. anyway, the promises of no grumping have been made, and everybody is in a good mood. we are lucky and happy. cheers.
